DANCE+ART
CREATIVE THINKERS AND MOVERS
ArtLab J’s signature program for creativity development.
Children explore a new theme through dance, art, and music each week. It encourages kids to express one concept in multiple ways
— moving their bodies, creating art, and engaging with music —
helping them grow their imagination and self-expression.

DANCE
Ballet
Our Ballet Program at ArtLab J nurtures dancers from their very first plié to polished performances. Designed for ages 3 through teens, our classes focus on developing strong technique, creative expression, and confidence in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
Ages 3–4: Creative Ballet – A playful introduction to ballet through music, movement, and imagination. We build coordination, rhythm, and a love for dance in a fun, nurturing space.
Ages 5–7: Foundation Ballet – Students begin learning classical ballet technique with an emphasis on posture, balance, and expressive movement, while continuing to build confidence and joy in dance.
Ages 8–Teens: Level-Based Ballet Training – For older students, we offer structured ballet levels focusing on technical growth, artistry, and discipline. Classes include barre, center work, and across-the-floor combinations, with opportunities for performance and advancement.
LYRICAL
Experience the beauty of lyrical dance, where ballet and jazz techniques merge with expressive storytelling. This class focuses on musicality, emotional expression, and graceful movement, helping young dancers develop both technical skills and artistic creativity. Perfect for those who love to perform and connect deeply with music.
Ages 7–9: Emerging Lyrical Technique –
Students develop fluid movement, basic turns, leaps, and expressive performance skills, while learning to connect emotion to music and movement.
Ages 10–13: Intermediate Lyrical –
Dancers refine technique with more complex choreography, focusing on musical phrasing, emotional depth, and seamless transitions between movements.
Ages 14+: Advanced Lyrical –
Students polish advanced turns, jumps, and floorwork while mastering emotional storytelling, artistry, and dynamic performance qualities.
Stretch and Conditioning
Stretch and Conditioning Class will cross-train the dancer. There will be a focus on core strength, endurance, and injury prevention.
COMTEMPORARY
Rooted heavily in ballet and modern techniques, contemporary has often been described as a melting-pot style. Dancers will continue to hone their skills, maintain their technique and explore new and exciting avenues to express themselves whilst utilizing dance movement as a vessel to communicate.
Ages 7–9: Emerging Contemporary Technique –
Students build strength, flexibility, and coordination through basic floorwork, weight shifts, and dynamic movement, while developing musicality and expressive skills.
Ages 10–13: Intermediate Contemporary –
Dancers deepen their technique with floorwork, improvisation, and phrase-building, focusing on body awareness, control, and expressive artistry.
Ages 14+: Advanced Contemporary –
Students refine advanced technique and performance skills through complex choreography, improvisation, partnering, and storytelling with movement.
K-POP DANCE
Experience a true K-Pop dance class directed by a Korean professional from the birthplace of K-Pop. While the class is taught by experienced instructors, the program is designed and overseen by a Korean director to ensure authentic K-Pop style. Students perform routines by BTS, Blackpink, and other top artists, and join contests held across the U.S.
Ages 4–5: K-POP Kids –
A fun and energetic introduction to K-Pop dance through simple movements, rhythm games, and beginner choreography inspired by top K-Pop hits.
Ages 6–8: K-POP Junior –
Students build foundational dance skills, coordination, and stage presence while learning beginner-level routines from popular K-Pop groups in an engaging, supportive environment.
Ages 9–12: K-POP Performance Team –
Dancers focus on sharper technique, musicality, and performance quality while mastering more detailed choreography. Students also gain experience preparing for showcases and contests.
Ages 13+: K-POP Advanced Crew –
Designed for teens, this level emphasizes technical accuracy, stamina, and stage charisma. Dancers learn advanced routines, participate in performances, and explore K-Pop culture more deeply under professional guidance.
LEAP AND TURNS
After a strengthening and stretching warm-up, class focuses on technique progressions for turns, kicks, leaps, and jumps.

Creative Storyteller
“Creative Storyteller” is our latest offering designed to refine and enhance storytelling skills. In this program, kids will develop their creative abilities and storytelling techniques based on award-winning storybooks, crafting their own narratives and bringing their imaginative stories to life.
