ArtLab J’s innovative program, Creative Thinkers & Movers, aims to offer diverse programming of creative activities which allow students to explore a more open free-form of dance, art, music and STEM through utilizing different materials all while stimulating the senses in an encouraging environment.
Class Description
Creative Thinkers-ART & STEM
ALJ’s Creative Thinkers class allows children to explore physical arts and crafts with a professional artist! Each week, students will explore different elements of art, including color, shape, and movement, to discover the many ways they can create unique pieces of art. Students will work with ArtLab J’s Art and Design Director, Seline Lim, to develop their creative skills in a fun, collaborative environment. By the end of the session, students will have a strong understanding of artistic concepts and how they can be incorporated into everyday life.
Creative Movers-DANCE & MUSIC
ALJ’s Creative Movers class connects the Creative Thinkers class's artistic concepts and allows children to explore performing arts and motor skills with professional dancers and musicians! Each week, students will examine different elements of art, including color, shape, and movement, to discover the many ways they can express themselves creatively. By the end of the session, students will be proficient in executing motor skills such as balance, focus, and coordination and have a firm idea of artistic concepts. Students will also develop fundamental knowledge of music performance.
Class Curriculum
Color: Artists will explore primary colors, hue, tint, tone, and shade, while dancers will explore the feeling of each color.
Shape: Artists will explore points, lines, surfaces, and shapes. Dancers will integrate points, lines, and surfaces into movement.
Story: Artists will read a storybook and complete an activity connecting with the story. Dancers will explore different rhythms and tempos in movement.
Artist: Artists will learn and explore various artists and designers’ styles and movements. Dancers will learn and explore various dancers and choreographers and their movement styles.
Light: Artists will explore light and shadow. Dancers will dance in front of different lighting designs to see how movement changes.
Texture: Artists will explore materials used in essential design skills and stimulate the senses in a STEM-based environment. Dancers will examine the feelings of different textures in a kinesthetic exploration.
Sound: Artists will make creative musical instruments. Dancers will create movement and dance to the music played by their instruments.
Movement: Artists will observe live creatures and build artwork inspired by their form and nature. Dancers will engage in movement practice.
Composition: Artists will explore various shapes and perspectives in composition through artwork and dance.
Scent: Artists will explore the source of various scents and engage in an activity related to their experience.
Session Info + Tuition
+ The first session is for the regular classes with each different theme (20 weeks )
+ The second session is dedicated to working on the final performance
+ 60 or 75 minutes class of Art + Music+ Dance separated by age group
60min 4-5 yrs $150 monthly (September -May)
75min 6-8 yrs $175 monthly (September -May)
Costume/Photo/Video are required for each student's routine in the year-end performance. Costume fees are NOT included in monthly tuition.
$150 - Recital fee/per class( Fee will be charged in January, including costume, digital video & photo from recital)

The Art Show & Award Prep Class is designed for students who are ready to take their creativity to the next level. Unlike fundamental classes, this program focuses on producing exhibition-ready, high-quality artworks that can be submitted to competitions and displayed at public shows.

Sprouts strengthens fundamentals in drawing, painting, and theory, while Award Prep focuses on high-quality finished works.

Art Sprouts is for those aged 6-7 years who want to nurture their creativity.
Every Monday 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm (60 min class)

ArtSprouts is a joyful introduction to the world of art for our youngest creators. Through playful exploration of colors, textures, and shapes, children build confidence and develop fine motor skills while learning the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and mixed media. Projects are designed to spark imagination, encourage self-expression, and nurture a lifelong love for making art.
Per month: $145 (September -May)
Art Sprouts Pro is designed for children aged 8-10 ArtSprouts Pro offers a deeper dive into artistic techniques and visual storytelling. Students experiment with a broader range of materials and tools while learning about composition, shading, color theory, and art history. With a balance of guided instruction and creative freedom, this class supports each young artist in developing their unique voice and artistic abilities.

Digital Portfolio will receive winter and spring

Art Sprouts Studio is designed for children aged 11-13 ArtSprouts Studio is designed for tweens ready to take their art practice to the next level. In a studio-style setting, students refine technical skills, explore personal style, and work on more complex, independent projects. Lessons include in-depth studies of various mediums, artist spotlights, and critiques that build creative thinking and visual literacy. This is a space to challenge, grow, and create with intention.
